**Monday, Aug. 31st, 2026**
As the crickets sing, I hear the fire alarms in my head.
The smell of smoke still lingers in my breath.
36+ hours on 1 hour of sleep has me re-living memories.
A pound on our door in the middle of the night.
Without thinking, I saw the orange light.
I told my wife, **“RUN outside!”**
While I ran out back with a cheap fire can.
It wasn't working that good, so I threw it in the fire.
I ran back inside and grabbed a deep saucer.
Our mini deck pool was filled to the top, so I scooped and scooped with all of my might.
I did this for what felt like forever, until I saw the flames slowly stop climbing higher.
I then ran and turned on my garden hose, and I sprayed and sprayed until a cop showed.
They told me to come.
I said no.
I said, **“I can't,”** followed by another no.
They yelled and said I would get in their way, so I finally caved when the flames were way down enough in my head.
I acted without pause, my life on the line.
**This is MY HOME**, I thought. I had to at least try.
And because of a dog and a man down the road, with many bangs on our front door, and moving as fast as I possibly could...
**Our home was saved from being gone.**
I sit here exhausted, praising the Lord, because only He could have protected our home.
A knock five minutes later, or me not running out back, and there may have been no home to even look at.
Without a dog barking loudly, surely our home would be gone.
That hero dog woke its owner up.
Without Chris banging on our door in the middle of the night, so very loud, surely our home would be gone.
Without my quick reaction of running straight out back, there may be no home to look back on.
Without us having a mini pool in the back for me to scoop water from, surely our home would be gone.
Without my garden hose already being on the back deck, just needing to be turned on, things could have been very different.
I turned it on, grabbed that hose, and slowly got most of the flames calmed down.
The fire trucks arrived very quickly.
In the end, what could have been the worst-case scenario at so many steps along the way became something completely different.
**Our Lord and Savior Jesus was there every step of the way.**
Not only did He align everything according to His will, but He also protected me as I was out back putting out the fire.
The heat was so hot it melted fabric on the opposite side of the deck where there wasn't even fire.
The heat was so hot that leaves on trees on the other side were curled and dried.
Yet I was untouched.
**Only by the grace of God.**
If I have one prayer for everyone reading this, it is that you really search for Jesus.
He is real.
He is here.
I've believed it all my life, and my faith has never let me down.
Many of you know the last two years have been the worst two years of my life.
Revenue dropping 90%.
Over $4,000 in Jeep repair bills out of the blue.
Finding out someone betrayed me to the highest levels.
But through it all, it proved that what I preach remained true:
**I never gave up on Jesus, and He has never given up on me.**
He is my foundation.
Please don't just seek religion.
**SEEK JESUS.**
Seek His knowledge.
Build a personal relationship with **HIM**, not the world and not “simply religion and rules.”
I truly believe Satan was so mad that he did not break me or make me turn to evil or bad things over these past few years.
I truly believe this was an attempt by him to break me after he failed to break me with material things — revenue and money.
Then he tried to use other people to break me.
And when that failed, I think he thought:
*After everything already added on, let's burn his house down. Maybe this will finally crack him.*
But God said:
**That is enough.**
And monday That very day this happened
Someone drove past my wifes car and a wooden beam
Smacked the back of my wife's car snapping the wood piece off the truck someone saw it and told us and got the driver to stop
yet when we looked there was NO damage to my wifes car
im talking about a long wooden beam theres no way no damage could of happened without god! i think that was another attempt of the evil one to add stress on an already nightmare event
but god said NO
I could go on for hours and hours about God's hand in everything.
The fire was in the ceiling of the corner of our house, around the laundry room. It was burned to a crisp up top.
Yet, like magic — although I know it to be God's hand — the fire **could not get past a roof support beam**, despite there being a gap and insulation right there.

What I realize now, looking back at the past three years, is that God has put me in a season of testing.
And all I hope is that one day, when it really is my time to go, I wake up hearing:
**“Well done, Scott. You ran the race. You tried your best based on the knowledge you had at the time. Welcome home.”**
